Chapter 11
The next morning, I woke up to find Michael already awaken. He stood up and turned around to look at me. I immediately closed my eyes so he would think I was still asleep. Then I felt his lips on my cheek. I turned around and smiled. He got back off the bed and turned his back to me. I turned back around and watched him put his underwear and pants back on. He’s so sexy. Especially when he doesn’t know he’s being watched. He put his shirt on and went into another room. When he came back, he had a pen and paper in his hands. I closed my eyes and listened as the pen scrawled on the paper. Finally, he put the paper on the nightstand beside me and kissed my cheek.
“You’re so beautiful,” he whispered and left. I waited until I heard the front door open and close. After ten minutes, I got up to read the note:
I hope you’re awake in time for breakfast
- Michael
I smiled and looked around the room as the sun rays touched every surface including me. The hardwood floors were cold although the sun was directly on it.
I looked in the mirror in the restroom and played around in my hair. It’s a mess, but who cares?
Does he take cold baths? I’ll just skip for now. I walked downstairs to the smell of breakfast. He can cook too?
“Good morning, sleeping beauty,” he smiled as I reached the last step.
“Good morning,” I smiled and rubbed my eye. There’s more light down here than there is upstairs.
“Did you sleep well?”
“Yes,” I said and sat down at the dining table.
“I’m glad.”
“Hey, Michael?”
“Yes?”
“Do you take cold baths or somethin’?”
“No. I do something a tad bit different.”
“And that is…?”
“Well… I get myself wet, wash, then I pour some cold water on myself. It’s quick and easy. It’s what I call a ‘shower.’”
“A ‘shower?’”
“Yes.”
“So, you don’t have a bath tub?”
“I do. I just don’t use it for a bath. It takes too long.”
“I guess I’ll try one of your showers. Do you have a cloth and a towel?”
“They’re in a closet right by the sink in the restroom.”
“Alright,” I said and made my way back upstairs. Right by the sink was the closet. I got the towel and cloth. Right underneath them was the bowl. “Michael?” I shouted.
“Yes?” He shouted back.
“What’s the bowl for?”
“The shower.” I took the bowl and filled it with water from the sink. In the tub was a soap holder and the soap bar. I unbuttoned his shirt that I wore and stood in the tub. This will be awkward. I poured the water over my body and washed then poured water back on me like he instructed. It was cold, but it was quick. I dried off and put his shirt back on. Whenever I get back to the palace, I’ll have to start taking showers. Baths have started to get annoying anyway.
“Leah, are you done?” Michael shouted up the stairs.
“Yeah. Hold on,” I said as I looked through some of his drawers. I found some tan pants. I wonder what I look like in pants. I put them on and looked in the mirror. They’re big, but if I put a rope on they’ll be fine.
I found a rope and tied it around my waist then walked over to the mirror. I look quite good. I ran down the stairs to find Michael singing. I top-toed over to him and wrapped my arms around his waist. “You sing?” I smiled as I lay my head on his back.
“Yes, I do,” he smiled and put some pancake batter on my nose.
“Hey!” I laughed and wiped my nose.
“You’re just in time. The pancakes are ready. How did you like the shower?”
“It’s better than a bath.”
“See? What did I tell you?” He asked and kissed me. I kissed him back and pulled him closer. He placed his hands on my butt and squeezed. “Hey… this isn’t a dress,” he observed as he rubbed my butt.
“No. They’re your pants. I wanted to see how I looked in them,” I smiled.
“Well, let me see,” he said as I turned around for him to see.
“Well, well, well,” he smiled.
“Let’s eat,” I smiled and got a pancake then poured syrup on it.
“Orange juice?” Michael asked.
“Sure,” I said as I cut the pancake.
He sat beside me and began to eat, “you’re so beautiful,” he said with a mouthful.
I laughed and covered my mouth, “no talking with your mouth full.”
“I’m sorry,” he smiled before he swallowed his food. “Anyway, you’re very beautiful.”
“Thank you,” I blushed and looked up at him. His eyes are so beautiful. Out of all the girls he could have had, he chose me. “Michael, I have a theory. Promise you won’t laugh either.”
“Alright. What?”
“My theory is that Alice and Rupert are related somehow and Alice wants him to be the next King. I mean it makes sense. He looks just like her. They’re always around each other and they both give me nasty looks whenever I’m with you.”
“That’s something to think about.”
“Exactly.”
“It’s funny, but it’s worth thinking about,” he laughed.
“Hey! You promised not to laugh at me.”
“I couldn’t help it.”
“Whatever, Michael,” I rolled my eyes and sipped my orange juice.
“So, what do you want to do today?” Michael asked as I lay in his arms on his bed.
“I don’t know,” I sighed. “We should just lay around. Maybe walk the beach. I don’t know. I’m full. You sure can cook.”
“Thank you,” he smiled and ran his fingers through my hair.
I kissed his neck and lay my head on his chest. “I want to stay here for ever, Michael.”
“We can if you want.”
“I don’t know,” I sighed and played with his fingers.
