Chapter 30

(Victoria)

"So, you met Daddy's friend, Naomi?" I asked Prince. I was still shocked at him telling me in the first place.

"Yeah, Mommy. She's pretty, but I didn't want to talk to her." He sighed heavily. He was probably annoyed by all the questions.

"Did you go to the movies at all?"

"Yeah." They both nodded.

"Did Naomi go?"

"No. Her and daddy argued, so she left."

"They argued about what? What could they possibly argue about?"

"Something about Uncle Josh being kissed and that Daddy shouldn't be cheating in the game. Oh and that Daddy makes bad decisions."

"Wait, so, Naomi thinks your dad is wrong?"

"Yup." Michael nodded. So Naomi is on my side? I wonder what history she has with Michael.

"Well then... Oh. I recorded your show in the living room."

"Thank you!" They shouted and ran downstairs. I didn't mean to prod the boys for information. I just needed to know. Especially since Michael just dropped off the boys and didn't come in on purpose when he knew I wanted to talk to him about Gabriella. I don't believe a word he told me. Gabriella is beautiful. I'm not going to lie. I know Michael has a knack for talking to beautiful women, but Gabriella is too beautiful. I know they did more than just talk. She's probably the reason Michael and I only have sex once a now. Or is it once every two months? Either way, we don't have sex like we used to. I think I just might call Gabriella. She told me she would tell me the truth if Michael decided not to, but I really don't want to hear what I already know. I wouldn't know how to handle it. I would probably go off on her, but it's not entirely her fault. Let me call Joshua before I stress myself out. I went to Michael's office and shut the door. I always liked his office more than mine. Probably because it was the only room in the house that actually smelled just like him. I sat in the chair and turned it to face the large window. I dialed Joshua and waited for him to pick up.

"Victoria!" I heard a smiled in his voice. Michael always used to answer the phone like that whenever I called. Now it's always just 'hey, V,' or 'yes, Victoria?' Joshua brightens my day.

"Hey Joshua." I smiled.

"How is your day?"

"It could be better."

"What's wrong? Michael?"

"As usual." I sighed.

"Want me to come over?"

"Joshua...you know Michael doesn't want you in his house."

"Oh yeah, but I miss you. He can make an exception for that."

I smiled, "maybe... Joshua?"

"Yeah?"

"I told Michael we kissed."

"Oh... You did?"

"Yeah."

"How'd he take it?"

"He didn't even care." I sighed.

"Really?"

"Yeah. He said I shouldn't have even told him. That's only between me and you."

"So, I can kiss you again?" Another smile in his voice.

I laughed, "no, I'm sorry. It was a mistake when I kissed you. I shouldn't have done that."

"Bummer."

"Remember how I told you Michael has three or four women that he talks to?"

"Yeah..." I forgot how mad that makes him.

"One of them came over today."

"Are you serious?"

"Yeah... She was so pretty. I could see how Michael was attracted to her. I could never measure up."

"Of course you couldn't measure up. You're way above her!"

I smiled, "thanks."

"It's true."

"I wish. You should have seen her."

"Don't talk down on yourself, Victoria. I bet she wasn't even all that."

"She was, Joshua. She was flawless. Anyways, she came over with Michael's clothes."

"His clothes?"

"Yeah, she said that he forgot to get them from her house. I asked why they were at her house in the first place. She just told me to ask Michael and if he didn't tell me the truth I could call her."

"Why do you think he had his clothes over there?"

"So he wouldn't come home smelling like her."

"What...? Oh..."

"Right. He told me that he would just go over to talk to her and they'd end up talking all night, so he would need new clothes."

"Well, that's the best lie he's come up with."

"Sure, but I could see right through it. Especially since she came over. I could tell that he couldn't just sit across from her and talk to her with her boobs just hanging out like, 'come and get me.'" Joshua laughed. "I'm serious! I told you, Michael can't help being around beautiful women. Back in college, before we dated, it was ridiculous. I mean, he wouldn't have sex with them as far as I know, but he sure could spit game. He did it to one of my friends. It took him a while to notice me."

"So, are you going to call this girl and get confirmation."

"I was thinking about it, but then again I don't want to hear her say they had sex."

"That's understandable."

"So, I think I'm going to wait."

"Don't wait too long. You already know the answer. You're going to be paranoid."

"You're right," I sighed. "Well, we're going to get checkups next Monday. I think I'll call her before or after that."

"Why then" Joshua asked, confusion clearly in his voice.

"Seems like a good deadline."

"Why? Victoria, how about tomorrow or something? That doesn't sound like a good idea to me."

"Why not"

"It just doesn't sound right."

"Joshua, if I do that and find out Michael's got something, I'll just have his littler girlfriend back me up."

"Still doesn't sound like a good idea to me, Victoria. Sounds like a whole lot of trouble."

"It'll be fine. Then I could just divorce him on the spot. I've been holding these divorce papers far too long."

"You've already got them signed?"

"You better believe it."

"Victoria, I'm on your side and I love you very much. But if he does end up having something, he's going to go to you for support to get through it. He wouldn't want to have to sign divorce papers."

I sighed. Suddenly I felt guilty. "You're right. So what will I do then if I do find out that he really did contract something?"

"Stay by his side and when he gets through it, have him sign the papers."

"Sounds kind of fake to me."

"Trust me, that's exactly how I felt when I had to do that to my ex-wife."
