Chapter 34

"Eww!" Prince ran over to us. Michael ran after him as Victoria stopped kissing me.

"What?" She laughed.

"Are you guys still mad at each other?" Michael asked.

"Nope." Victoria smiled.

"Thank God!" Prince sighed, climbing onto a nearby swing.

"What? You thought we were going to be mad at each other forever?" Victoria asked.

"That's what it seemed like."

"We couldn't be mad at each other forever. That's a long time."

"True." Prince nodded as he began to swing back and forth.

"You wanna get lunch?" I asked Victoria.

"That sounds like a good idea."

"Where do you want to eat?"

"It's up to me?" She pointed to herself.

"Well, yeah."

"Hmm...we should go to Chick-fil-a. I haven't had that in a while."

"That sounds really good right now."

"Then let's go." Victoria hopped off of the swing.

"Victoria." I held her hand. She looked up at me. "I love you."

"I love you too."

After we ate, we decided to head to the doctor's office.

"Mommy, are we getting shots again?" Michael asked.

"Nope. All of your shots are done." Victoria looked back at the boys.

"Then why are we going to the doctor's?"

"Just for some check-ups, so the doctor will know that you're healthy and fit."

"But I am healthy and fit." Michael groaned.

"Michael, you're growing and when you grow you have to get check-ups."

"Are you getting a check-up too?"

"Yup. So is Daddy."

"Oh." The sudden worry now gone from his voice.

"Feel better now?" Victoria asked.

"Yeah, I feel good."

"Good." She smiled.

As soon as we got to the doctor's office, the boys raced to the door suddenly excited.

"Any idea how long this will be?" I asked.

"You have some place to be?" Victoria replied.

"Nowhere, but with you."

"Oh," Victoria smiled. "it'll be quick. I'm sure."

"Great." I wasn't lying when I said that. After seeing Victoria snuggle up to Joshua on the couch the previous night, I decided to give up all of my extramarital relationships. Well...the only one I still had, which was Kendra. Naomi doesn't count, because we never got to that point. When I called Kendra to let her know I was done with the whole thing, she acted like she didn't even care. Easier on me, but letting go of Naomi was touch. Easy on her part, just hard on mine. I explained to her that what she said got to me, but it took more for me to understand that I shouldn't do what I'm doing to Victoria. She said she was proud of me and hoped that I would finally delete her number, like she had deleted mine. I told her that it would be after we hung up. After we hung up, I surely did delete her number. I'm glad I didn't know it by heart.

By the time it was our turn, Victoria decided she would go with the boys while they got their check-ups and I could go get mine. I sat in my room waiting for the doctor, twirling my thumbs, anxiously waiting for my turn.

(Victoria's P.O.V.)

"Dr. Aicholtz, how are you today?" I smiled. Michael held my hand tight. He was still very nervous although I keep telling him there is nothing to be nervous about.

"How are you, Michael?" Dr. Aicholtz asked him.

"Good." Michael sighed.

"And you, Prince?"

"I'm good. Are we really getting lollipops and stickers after we're done?" Dr. Aicholtz and I laughed.

"Of course, why wouldn't you?"

"Just checking." Prince smiled. Prince sat on the patient bed and waited.

"Mrs. Jackson, where is your husband?"

"He's getting his check-up right now. We're going to switch afterwards."

"Oh. I haven't seen him in a while. Hopefully, I'll see him before all of you are done. So, how are you, Prince?" Dr. Aicholtz put his stethoscope on.

"I'm good."

"Do you play sports? Take a deep breath for me."

Prince took a deep breath, "yeah."

"What do you play? Another deep breath."

"Soccer." Prince sighed.

"Are you the goalie?" Dr. Aicholtz checked Prince's reflexes.

"Nope."

"Why not?"

"Mommy doesn't want me getting hurt." I blushed.

"Well, she is your mom. Moms are crazy about those things sometimes."

"So it's a Mommy thing? Because my Daddy says I can be a goalie."

"Yeah," Dr. Aicholtz laughed. "It's a Mommy thing." Afterwards, Michael had his check-up and received his lollipop and sticker. We all sat out in the waiting room, so I could get mine as soon as Michael came out.

(Michael's P.O.V.)

"You okay?" V asked as soon as I came out.

"Yeah, I just haven't had one of those in a while."

"One of what?... Oh...it's only been a year."

"I know, but still."

"Well, you're good and healthy. That's all that matters."

"Yeah..." I nodded. I don't want to tell her they made me take one of those tests. It doesn't matter anyway. I'm clean and that's a fact.

"Alright, I'll see you when I get out." Victoria kissed me and walked off. The doctor said my results should be in in about two to three days. I told him I probably would not come by to get it so he should send it in the mail. I mean, it's not like I need to know that I'm clean.

An hour later, Victoria came out with a stressed look on her face.

"V, are you okay?" I asked her as she came over to me.

"Yeah, I'm fine. I just want to go home and rest."

"What happened in there?"

"I just took a couple of tests. The results will be in Thursday."

"Oh... Why do you look stressed, baby?"

"Stressed? I'm not stressed, Michael. I'm tired. Very tired, actually. Let's just go home."

"Are you sure?"

"Very sure."
